Holiday Armor

This time of year is always equal part enchanting, equal part frightening. How is it that another year has already gone by? I find myself going through old journal entries and analyzing my life patterns. Resurfacing old goals, doors I've closed, new opportunities and personal relationships, ideas I set on fire, and the growth that spawned from it all. With the new year ahead comes new journal entries, new memories, new celebratory feasts and indulgences. It's officially party season! Here's what I'm currently inspired to wear for the upcoming festivities... like personal amulets/armor. I'm ready.

Statement Earrings. Here's a sick little secret: Since my earlobes are super allergic to every metal I try to insert,  I refrain from wearing them, sans a couple times a year. They seal up in protest the second I take them out. I always have to painfully force the earrings in. It's a bloody battle of life or death. (Or so I make it out to be in my head) For the perfect outfit, it's worth it.

Lace Ups. Something so inherently sexy about straps. A partnership of romance/domination. Marrying these details with conservative, classic pieces would be the perfect balance of chic and cool. Which is the perfect cocktail for any party outfit.

I tend to have  a gravitational pull towards the dramatic. (ask any ex-bf) These sleeves beg for you to have animated conversation with other guests...bewitching the air with every simple hand movement. My favorite of course, is toasting glasses of chamagne.

Cut outs. Still love this,  paired with sheer organza or tulle. It's an aesthetic mind trip. I'm especially drawn to the pieces that have a high neckline and long sleeves.

I obviously left out fur and velvet but if you know me... that's a given. They are akin to my second skin. Whatever you guys decide to do this holiday season-  Stay safe, make glorious memories, and SLAY. Cheers. xx
