Buh-Bye 2016

I can't believe it's this time of year again! It feels like I was ringing in 2016 last month! I'm going to skip writing about New Years resolutions. I'm the type of person that over-analyzes , over-thinks, and creates resolutions like three times a week. I'm over it. I know this year is going to provide existential growth. Want to know why? Because I just know.  Because I'm at peace with the decisions I've made this year. Because I know my weaknesses and am currently at battle with how to conquer them. So for this year, I plan on trusting the universe, trusting my gut, and doing more of what scares me! With that being said, let's take a quick look at this year, shall we?

Let's start with some of the ugly:

2016 was the year...

Donald Trump was elected President of the United States

David Bowie, Prince, George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Alan Rickman, Muhammad Ali, and many other iconic figures left our physical plane for another adventure.

Terrorism seemed unstoppable. SYRIA

Highest temperatures in recorded history

I absolutely loved Bowie's farewell letter to the world. This album is remarkable.

Now let's take a look some of the BEAUTY:

A woman ALMOST won the United States Presidency

Africa was declared free of Ebola

Manatees, Humpback Whales, and Giant Pandas are no longer endangered

Remember the Ice Bucket challenge? That led to a breakthrough in ALS research.

Juno spacecraft reached Jupiter

I got my kitty Wildling Basquiat.

There's so much more I could add to these lists... but let's focus on the present. I'm excited for what this NEW year has in store. All the adventures, the lessons, the new connections, dreams I have yet to make. Join me for all of it.
